Sammye Munson: Hej Texas, Goodbye Sweden
Fifteen-year old Carl Olsson arrives in Texas in 1880, to face a new culture and language. He begins work on a cotton farm of an older brother who emigrated four years prior and who paid Carl's passage from his economically-stressed Sweden. His Texas adventures include receiving a broken leg when he tries to ride a wild stallion. Besides a broken leg, Carl had to tolerate the unaccustomed hot Texas sun, rattlesnakes, and discrimination.
